The Copernicus Group strongly encourages independent study of scientific subjects and recognizes that the internet is a great resource for information; however, it should be used with prudence. A reader must be skeptical of information presented on the internet and understand that virtually EVERY site gives a “point-of-view” not a “truth”. It is recommended that you gather information and study all sides of an issue (including rebuttals and rebuttals to rebuttals) prior to forming an opinion.

All sites are invested in their foundational assumptions – and that is perfectly acceptable providing the foundational assumptions are explicitly and unambiguously stated – this is the case with many Christian based sites. Some sites, however, under the guise of objectivity, hide their foundational assumptions. A good example is that of Wikipedia where participants will immediately eliminate any entry that is not founded upon the naturalistic assumption and even construct an article in order to hide anomalous and non-naturalistic observations. This is probably the general rule on the internet.
